ANTONYMS, SYNONYMS & HOMONYMS

This is a good game to check how many words you know. The words: "antonym, synonym and homonym" are very easy to recognize as they are very similar to the spanish ones.
An antonym is a word that has the exact opposite meaning of another word, as fast and slow.
Synonym: a word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another in the language, as little and small.
Homonym: a word pronounced the same as another but differing in meaning,  whether spelled the same way or not. as I and eye.

A new sport ... or a very old one?

Hurling is believed to be the world’s oldest field game. When the Celts came to Ireland as the last ice age was receding, they brought with them a unique culture, their own language, music, script and unique pastimes. One of these pastimes was a game now called hurling. It features in Irish folklore to illustrate the deeds of heroic mystical figures and it is chronicled as a distinct Irish pastime for at least 2,000 years.

Would you like to play this game?

March 8th - Women's Day

"If I were a boy", Beyonce.

This song is about all of the little things that mean so much in a relationship. Many men and boys aren't aware of how important is to treat their partners as they'd like to be treated. That's why we have chosen this song for this special day.

Here you have some activities to practice the vocabulary in this song.
Suggested order to do the activities:

1st.- Flashcards
2nd.- Scatter
3rd.- Learn
4th.- Speller
5th.- Space Race

Click on "View this study set". Then choose the activity you want to do.

This is my highest score in the Space Race. Can you defeat me? You need to be very good at typing when the pictures go really fast.

Now you are ready for testing your knowledge. Don't forget to print the screen and send it to me.

Here you have the link to Lyrics training, just in case you want to practice a bit more.

Smallest full moon of 2015 on March 5

Don't forget to look at the sky tonight!!!!

Tonight’s full moon is the smallest full moon of the year. We’ve heard it called the micro-moon or mini-moon. This March 5, 2015 full moon lies about 50,000 kilometers farther away from Earth than will the year’s closest full moon – the full supermoon and Northern Hemisphere’s Harvest Moon – on September 28.

The mini-moon returns about one month and 18 days later with each passing year, meaning that, in 2016, the year’s smallest full moon will come on April 22. In 2017, it’ll come on June 9. In 2018, the year’s smallest full moon will come on July 27.

By the way, as an aside, mark your calendar for that September 28, 2015 full moon – the Harvest moon – and closest full moon of this year. It’ll also stage a total eclipse of the moon, which some will call a Blood Moon eclipse. It concludes a series of four straight total lunar eclipses that started on April 15, 2014.
